Final Magazine Cover and Contents - Preliminary Task

These are my final preliminary task front cover and contents page of my magazine. I created them on photoshop simply inserting pictures and text. The barcode is just a image from the internet and the main photo of the front cover has been cut out using photoshop. The background is simply a background tool on photoshop.

Preliminary Task - Magazine Contents Ideas

This contents page has the title clear at the top in big bold writing with the stories and page numbers underneath and related images under that. This contents page is very standard.

This contents page has the title vetical down the left hand side with the images and stories in a much more random order to the first. They are spread out as to not look boring and in various places of the page however it still has some sort of pattern to it such as the stories go in chronological order so it doesnt look unproffessional.

This contents page has the title at the top of the page and is in a fairly neat layout. The stories are shown in a chronological list and related pictures to those stories are on the right. This makes it very simple and easy to read for the consumer.

My Magazine - Preliminary Task

I have chosen to use the name 'Goffs Heat' as my magazine title as it is short and
sharp but the word 'heat' implies gossip, which is what attracts people. I have
chosen to use the story of the big change in uniform as it applies to the majority of
people at Goffs and is a big situation at the moment. The other 2 stories I have
chosen to use as sub stories are the arrival of the new head at school as it applies to
everyone and everyone wants to know about her. The other story I have chosen to
use is the story of the GCSE results and the extremely high pass rate as it is
interesting to people and something the school can be proud of. I have chosen to
use elements of my 3 designs for my final magazine cover. I have chosen these
because I feel they are the best, most attractive and suit the theme best. The medium
close-up shot will cover most of the page and be the background image. The title will
run across the top of the page and the main headline will be next to the medium
close-up to the left. Other sub stories will be on the right of the background image.
